As from 2020 and aside from the fact that the new Mk-III is 2022 Eco Design Compliant and is Class 'A+' rated, the main difference is that the Arundel Mk-III now has a fixed grate. There is virtually no change aesthetically, and internally the stove now has a slightly different and more efficient vermiculite tile arrangement.
The Portway Arundel XL Wood 4.9kW is a DEFRA approved wood stove manufactured using high grade steel and with a modern design. This model of stove has a strong efficiency rating of 82.2%.
All Portway stoves come with a 5 year warranty period. As a rough guide, this stoves output is suitable for a room measuring in the region of 18ft (L) X 17ft (W) X 8ft (H) non open plan with average insulation properties.
This stove model's benefits include:
- Advanced air wash system to assist in maintaining the glass window clear of the build up of soot through the use of specially places vents to draw in air form the outside washing over the front of the glass.
- Tertiary Air System enabling pre-heated air to enter through bars are the rear of the stove, to inject more air into the chamber to improve efficiency.
- The option for a rear or top flue outlet.
- Large viewing window – 408mm x 396mm
- Suitable for use in Smoke Control Areas, as recommended by DEFRA
